Congrats to James and Erica we had the chance to capture their engagement this afternoon. A few weeks ago James contacted us at www.bridalshoot.com to see our thoughts on photographing his proposal to Erica. He recently seen a story on how grooms are documenting their proposal with wedding photographers or videographers and thought he would contact us. We where all for it and luckily we have some good close up photos of Erica as she accepted.
One of the best parts of taking proposal photos or an actual engagement photo is the unpredictability of it. What if she says no? what if her reaction does not make a great engagement shot. As a wedding photographer these are things that I think about. Another thing to consider is how to look normal. What I did was pretend to take photos of something else as if I did not notice them in the park and when prompted I utilized my long range lens to capture some great photos.
